Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, a rash or an upset stomach stays home until the next morning without symptoms. A teacher calls a parent when a child is unwell at school, and the office keeps your numbers current.
Drop-off and pickup
Buses and cars come to the loop at the end of the day, and a teacher walks each child to the right one. Only adults on the family's pickup list may collect a child, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know.
Closures for weather and holidays
The school closes for the major holidays, for a few days at harvest in the fall and for a few days at planting in the spring. Families hear about a weather closure by text and email early in the morning.
Leaving the program
We ask for written notice before the end of a term, so the office can offer the place to a family on the waitlist.
Screens and phones
Children do not use phones during the school day; phones stay in a bag or at home. Older grades use school laptops for typing and research, with a teacher in the room.
What to wear and bring
The dress guide asks for plain shirts and pants or skirts in navy, grey or white, with closed shoes and a coat for recess. The office gives the full guide at enrollment, and any shop will do.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Families send lunch from home, and the school has a place to warm it. Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll.
